Creating is a vehicle for me to reflect on my evolving relationship with myself and the world around me.

My mixed media methods, background in illustration, and affinity for abstract expressionism and surrealism prompt me to explore a spectrum of imagery ranging from portraiture to complete abstraction. It is rare that I begin a piece with a clear intention. My process allows me to discover meaning organically through intuitive, emotionally driven, and experimental marks. I layer colors, stack shapes, and carve into my compositions until the skeleton of a concept begins to reveal itself to me. It feels simultaneously empowering and cathartic to surrender to the process in this way.

 

Themes I find myself leaning into include lineage, mundanity, and nostalgia. However, if these themes are irrelevant to you, I hope my work may evoke something else entirely. Perhaps my art makes you think of something you love or something you are wrestling with. Either way, perfect.
